Can all types of paper be made from recovered fibre material ?

Recovered paper is just one of the various types of fibres that paper makers can choose from. Usually a “mix” of different types of fibre is needed. Paper is produced according to, what paper makers call a recipe, that describes exactly how much from each type of fibre and additive materials is to be used in order to achieve the desired quality characteristics.

Recycled fibres are usually less strong than so-called “virgin fibre”. When for instance a paper has to be both lightweight and strong, as is the case with many flexible packaging papers, only virgin fibres will be used.

However, big quantities of recycled fibres are used in corrugated cases, bathroom and other tissue papers, newsprint, paper for cores and several other grades.
