Is the world running out of forests because of paper making?

No, not at all. The world’s forested area even increases by more than 300.000 ha each year. Also in the main pulp and paper producing countries the forest area is growing. For instance the forested area in France doubled since 1950 and even countries with very high harvest rates (Scandianavia, Canada and USA) have each year a net gain of wood volume in their forests.
