What is recycling ?

Recycling means that a product, after it has completed its original purpose, is recovered and converted into a new product or material. The EU Packaging and Packaging Waste directive describes recycling as “reprocessing in a production process of waste material, such as recovered paper and board, for its original purpose or other purposes, including organic recycling but excluding energy recovery” (i.e. burning).
